From Pop-Up to Mainstay: Fairhope Brewing Finds Its Mobile Home
FAIRHOPE, AL — Fairhope Brewing Company, Lower Alabama’s original and largest craft brewery, is thrilled to announce that its popular Mobile outpost—originally opened as the Wingman Brewing pop-up—will officially become Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile. What began as a limited-time experiment to test new varieties has become a permanent fixture, thanks to an overwhelmingly positive response from beer lovers across the Bay.
This marks the first new permanent taproom for Fairhope Brewing Company since opening its flagship brewery and tasting room in Fairhope in 2013. Located on Saint Louis Street in downtown Mobile, the taproom has quickly become a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.
Why the Change?
The move comes as no surprise to fans who have long asked for a Fairhope Brewing presence in downtown Mobile. “Honestly, we didn’t know how this was going to go,” said Brian Kane, Managing Partner at Fairhope Brewing Company. “So we signed a lease that would allow us to terminate after 18 months if the response wasn’t what we were hoping. After seeing the success at the Wingman pop-up, we have extended that lease and we are thrilled to continue to be a part of the booming Saint Louis Street corridor. The pop-up really gave us the chance to test the market while also experimenting with dozens of different varieties. The success of this second location definitely makes it seem possible for us to grow into other Gulf Coast cities where Fairhope beers are so popular.”
Fairhope Brewing Company brews are widely available on draft and in stores across the Florida Panhandle, coastal Mississippi, all of Louisiana, and throughout the state of Alabama.
Wingman’s Final Mission
Wingman Brewing will close on August 11 for a quick taproom redesign aimed at creating an even better customer experience—think more comfortable seating and a layout that invites a true neighborhood, lounge-style vibe. The refreshed space will reopen as Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile on August 15. Guests can expect the same creative, high-quality craft beer lineup, plus more community-focused hangout space perfect for locals and visitors.
What’s Next for Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile?
“We’re really excited about the private event spaces available at this location,” added Managing Partner Jim Foley. “We’ve hosted everything from weddings to corporate events and look forward to expanding that service.” Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile, will also continue its tradition of creative, locally inspired brews. With the new Amtrak service launching between Mobile and New Orleans, the brewery is marking the occasion with a special new flagship IPA. Inspired by Fairhope Brewing’s top-selling Take the Causeway IPA, the Mobile location will release its own Take the Railway IPA on August 18, the same day the new rail service begins.
