Big Week of Giving Back
If you follow us on social media or check our event calendar from time to time, you know that its been busy few days here at Fairhope Brewing Company. Along with making great beer, part of our mission includes being a good partner to our community and giving back to the area that continues to support our business. We’re proud to share that in the last week we’ve helped raise more than $6,000 for local organizations!
Last Tuesday we kicked off our inaugural "Nonprofit Night" at FBC. The second Tuesday of every month we're inviting local non-profit organizations to the taproom to share their mission with the community. We love serving our community and are always donating and supporting events off-site. We thought this would be a great opportunity to allow some of those groups we are involved with an opportunity to share their message with our FBC family right here in our taproom. First up, we had the Fuse project who shared their mission of creating Purpose Built Communities. $1 of every pour, all day, went to supporting their mission.
On Saturday we held our first ever 80s Prom Night Befitting the Gift of Adoption which provides grants to families who are going through the adoption process. We enjoyed great music, delicious food by Big MIke’s in Orange Beach, and raised enough money to bring one child home to a forever family. It was a huge success!
The 6th Annual Suck It Cancer Crawfish Boil was Sunday. We had five teams battle to the end and served 1,000 lbs of crawfish in less than two hours. Bragging rights went to our friends at Bryant Bank who won Judges Choice and “The Crawfish Guys” took home the People’s Choice Award. We also want to give a shout out to our friends at SoHo Events and Rentals for helping sponsor the event this year and providing a great tent t so we could have plenty of room for all of our guests.
Wednesday Night we participated in the Fairhope Sunset Rotary's Battle of the Brains Trivia. The team from Fairhope Brewing Company won third place, bringing home $1,000 to a charity of our choice. We decided on our friends at the Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC) since we’ve got quite a few rescue dogs in the FBC family! We know this donation will help them find great homes for great pets in Baldwin County.
And, we aren’t stopping there...
This Saturday, May 25, Hop in the Bay IPA returns! As summer comes upon us, it's time for us to release our session IPA that helps support all the great work done by Mobile Baykeeper. On the release day, $2 of every pour goes to Baykeeper (then $1 per pour for the life of that beer). Last year we raised $1,000 for these great folks based on beer sales. Come out and join us so we can make that number even bigger this year! The Underhill Family Orchestra will start at 2:00 pm and we will have a food truck on site. Don't miss it!
