Fairhope Brewing Company Releases Beer Benefiting Veterans

Fairhope Brewing Company has teamed up with Soldiers to Sidelines, a
nonprofit that trains veterans and active-duty military across the country as sports coaches.

Available exclusively at the brewery’s taproom beginning November 11, a portion of the proceeds of Soldiers to Sidelines American Lager will benefit the organization. “We are thrilled to partner with such a wonderful organization,” said Jim Foley, managing partner at Fairhope Brewing. “We pride ourselves on giving back to our community, and Soldiers to Sidelines does such a great job for our veterans that we couldn’t pass up this opportunity.”

“I’m excited that we could make this beer a reality,” said Harrison Bernstein, executive director for Soldiers to Sidelines. “When I approached the brewery at the end of the summer, I wasn’t sure if it would be possible at all. But the brewery set out the goal of making this beer happen by Veterans’ Day, and here we are.” When creating the beer, head brewer, Jacob Sellers, said he wanted to craft something attractive to the general public, not just craft beer lovers. “We didn’t want to make a bitter IPA or an intimidating stout, so I came up with this traditional American Lager. It’s easy-drinking and well-balanced, with an alcohol content low enough that you can have a couple,” said Sellers.

“We hope this beer introduces people to our cause and lets them know that there are organizations helping our military even after they are done serving our country,” added Bernstein. Soldiers to Sidelines will be on tap when the Fairhope Brewing taproom opens at 1:00 on Veterans’ Day and available in 16-ounce cans to-go while supplies last.
