Friends in Low Places is back for 2022
Six Local Breweries Collaborate on Special Release to Benefit
Alabama Coastal Foundation
Mobile, Ala.,— Six local breweries in Mobile and Baldwin County are joining forces again to release a collaboration beer to benefit the Alabama Coastal Foundation.
"Clean water is arguably the most important ingredient used to make great beer," said Brian Kane, managing partner of Fairhope Brewing Company. "The Alabama Coastal Foundation does great things to protect our coastal line and watersheds on both sides of Mobile Bay, so it makes sense to have breweries from both counties to come together for this collaboration."
Participating breweries, including Fairhope Brewing Company, Big Beach Brewing, Braided River, Iron Hand, Old Majestic, and Oyster City, came together in July at Fairhope Brewing Company to brew the beer. The 2022 edition of Friends in Low Places has a bright tropical fruit aroma that, according to Fairhope Brewing’s Head Brewer, Jacob Sellers, "has just enough malty sweetness to support the explosion of hoppy flavors imparted by American and New Zealand hops with a crisp finish." Hops from all over the world were used throughout the fermentation process to create the New England-style India Pale Ale resulting in a more juicy flavor than bitter.
Beer lovers (and coastal protection advocates) can get their first taste at the launch party on August 18, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Southern Napa, located Olde Towne Daphne at 2304 Main Street. There will be door prizes, food, and the first official pours of Friends in Low Places.
After the initial release at Southern Napa, the beer will be available in cans and on draft at bars, restaurants, retailers, and select breweries starting next week." We invite the community to come out, meet the people behind the beer, support ACF, and check out Southern Napa. It's a great local spot to find unique craft beers and fine wines, and we are excited to partner with them on our launch," said Kane.
Big Beach Brewing, Braided River, Fairhope Brewing Company, Iron Hand Brewing, Old Majestic Brewing Company, and Oyster City Brewing are all located in lower Alabama and are members of the Independent Craft Brewers Association.
