Mardi Gras in July - full details

Posted by Brian Kane, Managing Partner on July 21, 2018

It all kicks off at 2:00 with the Bay City Brass Band setting the tone and plenty of beers on tap including our famous Bubba Likes Moonpie Stout and a Hurricane version of S’Wheat Home.  Plus a few brand new offerings like Float Rocker and Foot Marcher!

Your $5 entry fee includes a commemorative glass, and possibly our first 7 people through the door will also get a koozie that fits the glass perfectly. All beers will be $5, though pour sizes will vary based on the alcohol content of any individual beer.

We will have a tent set up outside where all of our specialty Mardi Gras beers will be poured on the following schedule:

***Float Rocker - mango papaya kolsch ON TAP INSIDE until it runs out

Painted Black - Black IPA
Foot Marcher - coconut and pineapple IPA

Verna - barrel-aged Kviek Norwegian ale
Big Bertha - strong ale

Hurricane - hurricane style wheat beer
Dean - barrel-aged Kviek Norwegian ale with belma hops

Dragon Breath - cider with hot peppers
Vernadean - barrel-aged Kviek Norwegian ale with mandarina bavaria hops

Kingslayer - barrel-aged imperial stout
Folly - dry-hopped cider

Jester - mango and habanero sour
Hurricane - hurricane style wheat beer

Behind the bar in the taproom we will have fifteen additional offerings on tap. Some of those beers will remain on tap all day, including:

  • Fairhope 51
  • Take the Causeway IPA
  • Cheap Sunglasses Golden Ale
  • I Drink Therefore I Amber
  • Everyday Ale
  • Judge Roy Bean Coffee Stout
  • Stuck on 280 IPA
  • Gilliam Wallace scotch ale
  • Hop Hogan Douple IPA
  • Along Came a Cider
  • Hop in the Bay session IPA
  • Rescue Dog Red

When we’ve poured through everything else, we’ll move on to whatever else we can find in our cooler.  Overall we’ve got more than 20 beers ready to make an appearance over the course of the day.

  • Bay City Brass Band 2:00
  • Roadside Glorious starting at 4:30
  • Petty For Your Thoughts (Tom Petty tribute set) at 7:00

We’ve got two options for food for purchase:

  • The Bean & Bistro will be providing Cajun fare like jambalaya, red beans & rice, and muffulettas
  • Bleus Burger with all their delicious burgers and fries

The parking in front of our taproom will be limited, but there is plenty of parking in our neighborhood.  The gravel lot to the east of our brewery is available, as is the lot for the Deli Depot gas station on the corner of Nichols and 98.  We do ask, though, that our patrons avoid parking in the Little Nichols Market across the street from us or in the parking area for Market by the Bay.

The weather is looking good for Saturday with temperature sticking in the 80s with showers in the morning but cleared up by the afternoon. We'll have a tent set up out front just in case!
